One week!

Wow, so the Iowa NEW Leadership Conference is over. This has been an amazing experience. I have met so many incredible people! I got to talk one on one with a previous mayor...I got to talk to multiple Iowa representatives...and the food was awesome. There is not one word that sums up my experience. But I'd say empowering. Even though we were only together and had about five days to get to know each other, it was basically like camp. At the end, I was super sad that I had to leave the friends I made. I hope I can continue to talk with these people. Some of them went to my college, but I never got the chance to meet them. Now I did. I was a bit worried about going. But I wouldn't change the experience for the world.

On another note, I have exactly one week till I am leaving for DC. I am so excited but I have so much to do before then. Packing for DC, packing for moving, unpacking, laundry, shopping, appointments and seeing friends.

I shall leave you with the top 5 strengths I learned at my leadership conference. I will totally try to use these to my advantage in DC. :)

1. Achiever
2. Input
3. Learner
4. Futuristic
5. Responsibility

16 days!

So one of my two roommates emailed me today. She seems very nice and I am super excited to go to DC! I think we're going to get along very well. Especially since she's a democrat :P Oh, and we're in the same summer class!

I got my Augie choice check today, which was super nice. Let's see, what else. We got a whole lot of info about DC in an email. All this email and stuff is just making me so excited. But I'm kind of saddened at the fact that they are now splitting American Politics and Journalism into two separate classes. I totally wish they kept it as one. That would have been like the perfect class. Speaking of classes, I leave school in two days and just have one more final left, thank goodness.

But I should go work on packing. But I was just so excited that one of my roommates emailed me that I had to update it! Eek! Can't wait!

25 Days!

Life update pt. 2:
-I was re-elected as SGA Junior Representative for next year.
-I am officially The Observer, my school's newspaper, Opinion's Editor. I'm pretty psyched about this.

There are 11 more days of school! It's crazy when you think about how little time we have left. I'm almost halfway done with college!!

D.C. update:
-I officially have my tickets purchased for D.C.
-I know when I can arrive in the dorms. Hopefully soon I'll find out who my roommates are! :)

I must go write a paper! Just got to survive through week 10!

One Month till D.C!

So there is officially one month till I set foot in Washington D.C! Today I turned in my forms which will give me money for my trip. Tomorrow I'm turning in the form that gets this internship written on my transcript. That's really all that's happened on the D.C. front.

On the school/life front... I am officially our school's radio show Program Director. I'm pretty psyched about that. And if everything goes well, I'll be our school's Opinions Editor. Sadly, I had to drop my presidency for Club Tennis, but I will be co-president for one term, if I have the time, till our new president comes back from study abroad. And today was voting for SGA elections, so cross your fingers that things go well!

Well, I have to go start and hopefully finish a paper. ONE MORE MONTH!!
